ANKA’S EXPERTISE LIES IN OUR COMPREHENSIVE SERVICE SYSTEMS AND APPROACHES WHICH WORK TO PROVIDE VULNERABLE POPULATIONS WITH SERVICES THAT ARE TAILORED TO ASSIST IN REGAINING SELF-SUFFICIENCY AND ACHIEVE RECOVERY AND HEALTH.
PEOPLE EXPERIENCING MENTAL ILLNESSES
Anka provides an array of supports and services to consumers of all ages with serious and persistent mental illness. Our continuum of care includes a variety of treatment settings that offer services ranging from crisis intervention and stabilization to ongoing recovery and wellness. The primary goal is to help consumers achieve and maintain their highest quality of life.
PEOPLE EXPERIENCING INTELLECTUAL DISABILITIES
Our programs provide an array of service modalities designed to meet the needs of children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Anka specializes in serving those who are also experiencing complex behavior problems, a co-occurring psychiatric disability, substance abuse issues, or have become involved in the criminal justice system. Our specialized services include residential and day programs for those experiencing a behavioral or psychiatric crisis, who are transitioning out of a state institution, or who are at risk of losing their community placement. The program philosophy is based upon the principles of normalization, inclusion, and positive behavioral supports.
In partnership with the Department of Veterans’ Affairs, Anka has developed case management and housing programs that specifically address the unique needs of those who have served our country. Through our outreach, transitional living, and permanent supportive housing programs, veterans receive the mental health and case management services they need to successfully re-integrate into their communities.
CHILDREN AND TRANSITION-AGE YOUTH
Anka works with children and youth who are in need of intensive early intervention services. Our specialized programs target youth who are experiencing a mental health crisis and/or an eating disorder. Additionally, we offer specialized programs for those emancipating from the foster care system. Through a combination of outpatient, residential, and supported living options, Anka is able to support and assist each young person as he or she progresses towards recovery and independence.
PEOPLE WITH INVOLVEMENT IN THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM
Anka provides specialized treatment services and education to clients who have been involved in the criminal justice system and who suffer from a mental illness or substance abuse problem. These programs are specifically designed to reduce recidivism and to provide clients with the knowledge and skills they need to become productive, law-abiding members of the community. Anka’s forensic programs provide a structured, cost-efficient method of rehabilitating clients and are often more effective than the state hospital or institutional environments that would normally serve these individuals. Anka also provides mental health and substance abuse treatment in the jail setting so that individuals can receive the support needed to successfully re-enter the community.
PEOPLE EXPERIENCING SUBSTANCE ABUSE ISSUES
Through both traditional and innovative programs, Anka provides a full menu of service opportunities that includes both residential and outpatient substance abuse treatment. Specialty programs are designed to offer integrated treatment to meet the specific needs of those who also experience mental illness. With an integrated team of substance abuse and mental health professionals, consumers are able to receive all of their treatment in one location.
PEOPLE EXPERIENCING HOMELESSNESS
Through our participation in the Chronic Homeless Initiative and other funding opportunities, Anka has developed a variety of programs, ranging from outreach to housing, to assist people transitioning out of homelessness. Using a “Housing First” approach, consumers are able to receive housing as they begin to address the medical, mental health, and substance abuse problems that have contributed to their homelessness.
