Quality Initiatives
Electronic Health Record
Anka was one of the healthcare companies to incorporate an electronic healthcare record about 10 years ago, and is very excited to upgrade our existing technology to a federally certified system.
Healthcare reform requires the use meaningful use of technology to improve the quality of care received. Anka intends to use the Electronic Health Record (EHR) as a tool to improve the quality of services received by each person served. With a single healthcare record for each person, Anka's programs will be able to make more informed decisions with each consumer about their care and alleviate any burden experienced by the consumer to coordinate their healthcare needs. Additionally, Anka will be able to use the summary of EHR data in its continuous quality improvement process, identifying successes and areas for improvement.
CARF Accreditation
CARF International is a private non-profit agency whose mission is to promote the quality, value, and optimal outcomes of services through a consultative accreditation process that centers on enhancing the lives of the persons served. CARF's accreditation process includes an assessment of the environment, strategic planning, plan implementation, data analysis, and performance improvement. Key indicators used to monitor performance include the effectiveness of services, efficiency of services, service access, and satisfaction and other feedback from persons served and/or stakeholders.
CARF International is one of the premier accrediting bodies in the behavioral health field and provides standards of care to achieve optimal outcomes for persons served. Currently, Anka Behavioral Health holds accreditation for vocational programs, and is in the process becoming accredited for our residential, outpatient, and Assertive Community Treatment programs.
Stakeholder Satisfaction
Anka currently elicits feedback from consumers and employees about their satisfaction with services, employment, and suggestions. Consumer satisfaction surveys are completed at discharge and/or semi-annually. Qualitative data is also gathered with suggestion boxes at service sites, focus groups, and advisory boards. Employees are surveyed on a regular basis to capture their level of satisfaction with their job, quality improvement suggestions at their program sites, and to inform future employee development programs. Anka is currently in the process of developing a contractor satisfaction survey to begin to elicit feedback from our contractors and other stakeholder groups.
