Redwood Coast Regional Center - Community Integrated Work Program
Anka has been awarded a community integrated work program (CIWP) for adults with an intellectual disability who have become involved with the criminal justice system or are at risk of becoming forensically involved. The program will provide prevocational and vocational services and supports to 20 consumers. The goal of the service is to develop the skills necessary to achieve and maintain employment as well as to decrease potential involvement in criminal behaviors. Additionally, this program will create employment for 8-9 job coaches and job developers and is anticipated to open in the late spring.
Regional Center East Bay - Anka Hayward Hills
In partnership with RCEB and the Housing Consortium of the East Bay (HCEB), Anka is developing Anka Hayward Hills, a crisis residential program for adults with intellectual disabilities who are experiencing an acute psychiatric or behavioral crisis. The program is designed to provide a thorough assessment and develop a plan to address the issues leading to and maintaining the crisis situation. The expected length of stay is up to 90 days with the goal of assisting the person in transitioning back into a less restrictive setting. This program will create employment for 9 direct support professionals and is anticipated to open in late spring.
Tri-Counties Regional Center – Casa Nipomo
Anka is currently developing Casa Nipomo, a 4-bed residential program, to assist 4 women with intellectual disabilities and psychiatric involvement to transition out state developmental centers into the community. Casa Nipomo will provide a home-like environment to assist the women in obtaining the life of their choosing with the service and supports necessary to ensure that community placement is successful. This program will create employment for 9 direct support professionals and is anticipated to open in late spring.
Regional Center East Bay – Forensic Residential Program
Anka is currently developing a second residential program with RCEB to help men with intellectual disabilities who have become involved with the criminal justice system transition out of Porterville Developmental Center. The program will be a licensed, 4-bed residential program and provide a supportive community home for consumers interested in transitioning back into the community with a focus on personal accountability and community safety. The program will create employment for 9 direct support professionals and is anticipated to open in the early fall.
Central Valley Regional Center – Dual Diagnosis Residential Program
Anka has been awarded a six bed adult residential program for adults with intellectual disabilities and a co-occurring psychiatric diagnosis. The program is intended to provide a transitional environment for people who have been in a locked setting and are ready to re-integrate back into the community. The program will create employment for 10-12 direct support professionals and is anticipated to open in the fall.
Riverside County Mental Health – Milestones Board & Care
Milestones is a 51-bed board and care program designed to work with adults experiencing a significant psychiatric disability - which has affected their daily functioning. Services shall emphasize self help groups while assisting consumers to improve their daily living skills, medication compliance, and other skills necessary for success in less structured living situations. The program will create employment for up to 10 counselors and is anticipated to open in the late summer.
Ventura County Behavioral Health – Crisis Residential Program
The Anka-Ventura CRT will be a short-term crisis residential treatment program with an eight-day average length of stay located on the Hillmont Hospital Campus. The program will provide an alternative to hospitalization for seriously mentally ill consumers who are experiencing acute psychiatric symptoms. The program will provide 24-hour acute treatment and support services in a voluntary, unlocked setting. The program will create jobs for 24 mental health professionals, both degreed and non-degreed, and is anticipated to open in the late spring.
