Transitional Residential Services
Anka has designed a wide variety of transitional living programs to meet the needs of multiple populations. The length of stay ranges from three to eighteen months and is tailored to address the specific needs of the population served. Services are focused on assisting people to address any issues that led to their enrollment in the program and to assist them in returning to a more independent setting.

Mental Health
Anka provides transitional residential services for people who are transitioning out of locked or institutional settings or who are at risk of transitioning into a higher level of care. Services are provided in a home-like environment and consumers are supported to learn the skills necessary to live more independently while receiving the clinical services and supervision to stabilize their mental health condition. With its foundation in the consumer recovery model, consumers are empowered to develop individualized service plans to help them learn to manage their mental health symptoms while increasing life skills. Activities include individual and group psychotherapy, life skills development, socialization and recreation, milieu therapy, and medication support and monitoring.

Co-Occurring Disorders
Based on an integrated model of care, Anka provides transitional residential services to people in need of dual recovery support. The program is designed to address both mental health and substance abuse problems within the same program and with a single treatment plan. Services include individual and group psychotherapy, traditional recovery supports, milieu therapy, recreation and socialization, and medication support and monitoring.

Homeless Families
In partnership with Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Anka has developed transitional housing and supportive services for families experiencing homelessness. With immediate access to housing units, families are welcomed into the program and are able to re-establish a sense of safety and security. Once settled, families are able to access a host of supportive services to help them address the issues that led to their homelessness, increase self-sufficiency, and transition into permanent housing. Services available include individual, family, and group psychotherapy, pre-vocational and vocational assistance, alcohol and drug counseling, case management, and child care.

Forensic
Anka has developed transitional living services both for people exiting the state hospital system and for those who are at risk of re-entering the state hospital and are under civil commitment through California's Conditional Release Program. The primary goal is to provide a safe living environment for people to re-learn the skills necessary to safely re-integrate into the community. Programs focus on encouraging individual responsibility for one's health and behaviors.

Veterans
In 2007, Anka opened its first grant per diem program with the Department of Veterans' Affairs. In the grant per diem model, Anka is able to provide a transitional living environment with supportive services for homeless veterans who have mental health and/or substance abuse problems. Services are tailored for the unique needs of veterans with a link to permanent housing subsidies through the HUD-VASH program.
