Crisis Residential Treatment

Anka currently operates multiple crisis residential programs for children and adults experiencing a psychiatric emergency or behavioral crisis. As an alternative to hospitalization, Anka's CRT model provides intensive mental health and behavioral supports at a reduced cost. With an integrated team of professional staff, all consumers have access to individual and group therapy, life skills support, and medication evaluation and management. All services are provided in home-like environments and are licensed and certified by the state regulatory agencies.

  • County Mental Health Crisis Residential Services
Anka currently operates crisis residential services within each county's system of care. As an alternative to hospitalization, Anka assists consumers to reduce their symptoms and increase their functional living skills. Using a 10-14 day model, consumers receive medication support, individual and group psychotherapy, opportunities to learn and practice life skills, and milieu therapy.

  • Kaiser Permanente Crisis Residential Services
In partnership with Kaiser Permanente, Anka has developed a model of crisis intervention using a 5-7 day model. As an alternative to hospitalization, individuals are provided opportunities to focus on resolving the current crisis and developing the skills necessary to reduce the likelihood of future crisis events. The goal is to engage the individual and their family, when possible, in the recovery process to resolve the behavioral, cognitive, or emotional issues that led to the crisis. This is achieved by providing a variety of therapeutic services including individual and group psychotherapy, art and psycho-educational group activities, and psychiatric and medication supports.

  • Intellectual Disabilities
Anka has developed a crisis residential model for children and adults experiencing a behavioral or psychiatric emergency that places them at risk of losing their community placement or is resulting in self-injurious or dangerous behaviors towards others. Through the use of an interdisciplinary team, the goal is to discover the underlying causes of the crisis behaviors and assist the consumer in learning safer and more adaptive ways of expressing control and communicating their needs and preferences.
